About our school

About this Website/Blog
Welcome to our school website/blog. The idea behind this 'website' is to use a blogging approach to web building. This has a number of advantages for us as a primary school:
  • It's free, easy and quick to use.
  • It allows each class to upload their own work from a computer in the classroom, so we all get to decide what goes up.
  • It's like every class having their own website!
  • It uploads easily and moves quickly between links making it enjoyable to use.
There are lots of other advantages. If you follow the class links you will see we are learning to use different skills to create content. We are using text, clipart, digital photos, digital video and sound recording. We learn to use different software and approaches to publish our work. See some of our videos in the blogs under the 'Links' menu.
Besides working as a website, this collection of linked blogs also creates an online archive; a kind of living history of the school.

This blog page is used as a 'homepage', to post a calendar of school events each month and to give updates on our news. The blogs for our classes are under 'Links' on the right of this page as are our Home School Diary, Activities and History blogs.
Below these links are the logos of some of the awards the school has achieved. If you want to learn more about an award just click on the logo to link to its website.

About Us
We are a Senior Boys' Primary School from 2nd to 6th class (7-13 years). Situated in the North Wall, in the parish of Saint Laurence O'Toole, we are near Dublin's IFSC. We were a Christian Brothers School (CBS) but now all CBS schools are under the Trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust.

Some people have asked what Larriers means. Larriers is derived from the 'Laurence' in Saint Laurence O'Toole. It is a nickname long used by the pupils for the school .

There is always lots going on in our school. We hope these linked web blogs will give an idea of what we're up to. Drop back from time to time and see how we're getting on.

Go on the Larriers - strong and proud!
