The Larriers Cycle'thon!
---------------------------------------
The Larriers of St. Laurence O' Toole's were at it again on Friday, raising money and awareness for The Cystic Fibrosis Association of Ireland. Together with PWC, Localise and the girls' school, the Larriers of sixth class organised a 'cycle'thon', cycling the distance from Dublin to Cork and inviting the volunteers and people of PWC to help along the way. Altogether everybody raised €4,188.80! Thankfully nobody got lost and a great journey was enjoyed by all!
Well done Larriers!

The Larriers recently completed a number of scientific experiments for the Discovery Primary Science Programme.
The science experiments were completed and I think the foundation of scientific principles was matched only by the fun! Well done to all the boys and a big thank you to Miss Sunderland, our own wonderful 'mad scientist'!!
There are some great 'After School' clubs in Larriers and one of the best is our Art Club with Niall and Andy.

The 'Meet and Greets' for parents and guardians have been arranged for the week beginning Monday, 13th September, 2010.
The 'Meet and Greets' are an opportunity for you to visit your child in their classroom, in their learning environment. It is a chance to see your child using the interactive whiteboard, engaging in lessons and participating in classroom games.
The teacher will also talk about the homework, the healthy lunch policy and show a number of short videos indicating the curriculum resources available at the school.
Each class will have their 'Meet and Greet' on the following date. Hope you can make it!

I have to admit to a bit of curiosity. What does "Larrier" mean? I find no reference in a dictionary.
ReplyDeleteA 'Larrier' is a pupil of 'St. Laurence O' Toole's' who epitomises the spirit of the school, a pupil who is strong and proud in their actions and thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how the name came to be. It is my last name and everyone I've ever encountered with it is related. Email me at jhlarrier@gmail.com. I would certainly appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice blog I have really enjoyed keeping up with you on this blog. This is very useful post for everyone. Thank you so much this post.
